David Barnette joins August Leadership after leading Korn Ferry’s North American Professional Search technology practice including communications, consumer electronics, software and Internet of things (IOT). He also has extensive experience across the technology ecosystem with key partners such as distributors, business process outsourcers (BPOs) and value-added resellers (VARs). With 15 years of experience as a senior leader in sales, marketing and operations, David brings a wealth of industry experience to August Leadership and specializes in the following areas: Digital Transformation, go to market strategy, Product and channel development, Sales & marketing leadership, and Technology leadership.
Before joining August Leadership, he founded ChannelPeak, a consulting practice focused on helping technology companies improve sales and go to market strategy, create new distribution channels and assess new market opportunities. Prior to that Mr. Barnette was senior vice president of sales at Clearwire where he led an organization of over 900 people across 75 markets in sales, marketing and supporting roles. There he was instrumental in the 2011 transformation of the company’s device and marketing strategy that generated an additional $125M in cash flow the following year. In 2012 he was selected by the CEO to lead product development for the company’s new enterprise solutions division to deliver fixed wireless and IoT services to SMB and Enterprise customers. Prior to that he served in several management roles over 9 years with BellSouth and AT&T where he developed numerous successful channel programs.
David currently volunteers with ContactPoint, an after-school tennis program in Atlanta where he draws on his experience as former college tennis player to coach local children. He’s also a fundraiser for the local ALS Foundation and the Howard School.
