Experienced with multi-country leadership role, leading one of the largest conglomerates in the country and in leading HR function of largest telco in Bangladesh. Led BAT ‘South Asia Area’ HR function, managed global project in HR shared services space and was part of the leadership team of global SAP implementation in BAT. Skilled in developing and implementing HR strategy, defining HR processes for SAPHR global template and HR shared service design, business process outsourcing, leading & managing organizational change, employer brand development and creating powerful employee engagement platform. This experience is complemented by 12 years of manufacturing and supply chain background in BATB in leadership position.
Before stepping into the world of consultancy he was the Chief Executive Officer of Partex Start Group, an established conglomerate in Bangladesh. Prior to joining PSG he was CHRO of Grameenphone, the largest telecom operator in the country with a market capital of above 5 Bln USD. He joined Telenor in Nov 2012 and was posted as CHRO of Telenor India for a stint of two years. Prior to his telecom career, he worked for British American Tobacco for about 25 years, starting within Operations function where he grew from a shop-floor Engineer to lead the plant at Dhaka and the supply chain operation. He took over as the Head of HR role of BAT Bangladesh in Dec 2001.
In his 30 years of experience, Shahed has worked across different geographies starting in Bangladesh, then in Iran, Pakistan, Malaysia, India and the UK, in leadership roles within different functions and on global projects. Notably, he held role of the HR Lead in Global SAP Project in UK, led many change initiatives, involved in business setup, global process & system design, business process outsourcing and built one of the strongest employer brands in the country.
Shahed takes active interest in community work and is one of the founding members of TRY Foundation. He is an eminent speaker in the HR forums of the country
