John has over 20 years’ experience in executive search. He set up and ran the CFO Practice in Heidrick & Struggles’ London office, and was promoted to Partner. John has recruited senior executives and board members for businesses ranging from start-ups to large public companies – in both Europe and North America. Clients value his integrity, transparency, creativity, strategic approach, and clear communication. This has led to very successful outcomes for both clients and investors.
John began his career with The First National Bank of Chicago, where he completed the graduate training programme and worked in the swaps team. Following his MBA, he worked for Mercury Asset Management (Europe’s largest independent fund management firm, which was acquired by Merrill Lynch). John co-founded a software company and then worked in sales & marketing, in the UK and Continental Europe. (He speaks French, German and Spanish.)
John is the (co)author of three published books: How To Be Headhunted, Brand You (Pearson), and The Power of Letting Go (Hachette). He is a regular speaker on executive search, personal branding and personal development.
